Dynamite Bait Festival - Day 4
Dynamite Bait Festival Day 4 Well we have gone from a wet day to an even wetter one! There has been no let up on the rain and it has also got a bit colder today. It could be make or break for some today, those that go into the final day on high points can afford a lapse but there are a few who need to make up some points if they stand a chance of getting into the top ten. Read on for the action from the penultimate day of the festival. A Section Porth A mixed day on Porth but not the worst results we have seen over the festival, the endless rain and wind is having an effect on the anglers and only the brave are fishing the long pole which is having such good results whilst others are sticking to the faithful waggler and hoping for the best. Mal Runacres was the lake winner today on peg 87; Mal caught on the waggler with caters and weighed in with 11lb 4oz. Second with 11lb was Clive Poole, Clive was on peg 40 and caught skimmers on the pole at 13 meters and roach on the waggler with caster. Russ Grimes weighed in with 10lb 4oz to take third, Russ caught on the long pole with worm & caster from peg 75. The next best weight on the lake came from Andy Geldart on peg 35, Andy caught on the waggler with maggot for a weight of 10lb. Section Winners Mal Runacres 9 points peg 87 11lb 4oz Clive Poole 9 points peg 40 11lb Russ Grimes 9 points peg 75 10lb 4oz Steve Conway 9 points peg 22 9lb 1oz B Section Bolingey A tougher day on Bolingey with the amount of cold water going into the lake from the rain really making a difference as the fish have seemed to back off. The lake winner today with 196lb 8oz was Dean Smith; Dean was on peg 45 and caught on the long pole with pellet and meat. John Cockayne on peg 23 was second, John had a weight of 121lb 12oz caught on the 11 meter pole with pellet. Ainsley Woodward our youngest festival competitor was third with 106lb 6oz; Ainsley was on peg 29 and caught in the margins with meat. Tim Russell was the lake winner today with 85lb; Tim was on peg 26 and caught on the groundbait method with meat on the hook. Second on peg 20 was Steve Sanders, Steve caught on the waggler with meat for a weight of 84lb 14oz. The stage is set for another nail biting fishing. Join us tomorrow for the final results. Cheers, Kirsty Read more about White Acres Country Park in Cornwall...
