Parkdean Holidays celebrates 10th Anniversary of Parkdean Masters

Parkdean Holidays celebrates 10th Anniversary of Parkdean Masters

Parkdean’s White Acres Holiday Park is the fabulous setting for the 10th Anniversary of the Parkdean Masters £25,000 one day fishing final. The 2009 Masters will take place on Saturday 10th October and on Sunday 11th October the 10 Masters will fish to compete for the “Master of Masters” Championship title.

The winner of this year’s Parkdean Masters final will join the previous winners for this exciting Master of Masters anniversary match. The returning Masters are Alex Murray (2000), Harry Billing (2001), Darren Cox (2002), Steve Ringer (2003), Ben Leach (2004), Neil Machin (2005), Tommy Pickering (2006), Des Shipp (2007) and Adam Wakelin (2008).

Steve Ringer, Masters Winner 2003 says, “The Master of Masters match is set to be a real clash of the titans with the field made up of a virtual who’s who of angling. Even so, I’ll be going all out to win it, although with the standard of angler present, to say it’s going to be tough is an understatement!”

The winner of the Anniversary Master of Masters match will receive the prestigious giant Parkdean Masters trophy and also a fantastic prize of a luxury holiday for two worth £1000 jetting off to Las Vegas with an additional £250 to gamble on the slots!

Darren Cox, Masters Winner 2002, is looking forward to competing against the other top Masters, “It doesn’t seem like 10 years since this competition started and it has been as massive success. It is the biggest final to win as you are fishing against the best of the best all week to qualify, then you have to beat the cream of the best in the final. It is a great idea to have this match and I would love to be able to take the trophy home with my name on it as the Master of Masters”

To get to this stage the winning anglers will have had to beat off stiff competition from 180 competitors in the Preston Innovations festival and then beat the top 24 anglers from that festival in the one day match. This year’s festival is one of the best line ups ever seen with plenty of top anglers fishing, so who the Master will be this year is anyone’s guess, it is even possible that a previous winner could take the title again. Both of these events are open to the public with a beer tent and refreshments available and everyone is more that welcome to come along and watch the event.

Stephen Griffiths, Regional Director for Parkdean Holidays said “It is a great honour for White Acres to be hosting of one of the biggest events in the UK’s match fishing calendar, I know there is a great amount of effort and hard work that goes on behind the scene to maintain the festivals at such a high standard and it is rewarding for us all with the positive feedback we receive from the anglers. I am looking forward to being there for both of the presentations and crowning our new champions”
